As the question of what killed Mohbad persists, One should know that Mohbad was a calm and hardworking street rapper. While his personal life was peaceful, some narratives about his involvement in activities did not befit a gentleman.

In February 2022, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested him, Zinoleesky, and four other individuals for possessing illegal substances such as MDMA and cannabis at their residence in Lekki, Lagos.
Viral videos on social media showed NDLEA operatives breaking into the musicians’ residence in the Lekki district of Lagos on that day. Witnesses reported the officials carried out the arrest without search warrants and subjected the Marlian singers to inhumane treatment.
Bystanders and onlookers saw the NDLEA operatives hitting the musician with clubs and firing shots into the air, forcing them into waiting trucks.
Another incident occurred in October when a video surfaced of Mohbad shouting and alleging that the Marlian Music team had assaulted him. On the same day, October 5th, he announced his departure from Marlian Records, accusing Naira Marley of domestic violence.
